Play Your Part
John 2: 1-11
Jesus' mother was an integral part in His first miracle helping birth Him into becoming a miracle worker. She was a main character in the story, being mentioned in verse one of the chapter. Even though we know His mother's name to be Mary, this text never uses her name. She is always referred to as His mother.
Just as Mary was chosen and found favor from the Lord to receive the miracle of immaculate conception and birth or push out the Savior of the world, she was also chosen again to birth/ push out Jesus to become a miracle worker on the earth. Jesus wanted nothing to do with the wine at the wedding. He even questioned his mother as to why she was bothering Him. We all do this to our parents at some points in our lives don't we? Moments when we want to be left alone, our parents come bothering us, asking a bunch of questions OR wanting us to do something. Just like Jesus, even though we really don't want anything to do with what our parents are saying... we go ahead and listen to the Holy Spirit and do it anyway.
Mothers you have been chosen. God knew each of us before the womb and He chose you to birth out your sons and daughters... HIS princes and princesses. But beyond the physical birthing process you are chosen to help birth and push out more in the lives of your children. You must play your part during ALL of your children's lives! No matter whether 3 months, 3 years, or 33 years... there is always another level to attain and you help set the stage for that promotion.
Jesus' mother made a statement then gave a command... she operated in the anointing and in her part as His mother. Your first job mothers is to pray and cover your children and then allow God to guide you in the pushes of life. Your push will help your child get through the door and into the next dimension.
STOP ENABLING BAD BEHAVIORS! Especially mothers of sons! Stop de-masculating these men and making excuses for doing it. Please know that it is NOT love that you show by doing for them what they should be handling. You are crippling them. The world needs more men, husbands and fathers alive, free and strong enough to be Godly heads of households... RAISE ONE... and then PUSH them as adults to be better.
Don’t think your job is to enable and support. Your job is to guide and push with love! Mary was chosen. Since the day the angel came to her she was always playing her part in Jesus’ life and His death and resurrection. She is the ultimate example of a SUPER mom. Favored, chosen and playing the part.
